Case studies task – problem – Ariana Grande ft Iggy
Synopsis: the video was about Ariana moving on from someone, being better off without the man. It was a performance based music video.
Theme: Retro era 60s – dress, hair, make-up. Back drop/green screen. Female power and independence.
Ariana grande is associated with pink and dressing girly. Dancing and lip synching to the song. Iggy is also lip syncing, dressed in all black looking more mature than Ariana. The men are chasing the women. They are superior compared to men. Extreme close up of the man’s mouth and he is sort of whispering the lyrics and hiding his face suggesting what he’s saying is a secret.
