Production team roles
My group, and I have decided that we all want a role in directing, producing and working with camera sound and continuity, as none of us want to objectify and dedicate ourselves to one team roles, as we are all mutually creative and expressive in each of these fields and want to contribute and experience each of theses roles.

Team meeting & narrative idea
In todays team meeting we were discussing and making notes on the narrative we wanted for the song. We looked at the lyrics of the song and because we wanted the visuals to amplify the lyrics, we were coming up with ideas that could relate to the lyrics and also what the whole song is about. so the song is about a man who gets his heart broken by a girl. From this idea we expanded it and thought about how she broke his heart. We decided to have the girl cheat on him and break stereotypes of men normally cheating. You'd usually see men breaking hearts of girls in music videos, we subverted from this and did it the opposite way.

Team meeting - choosing the song
My group consists of 3 people including myself, all with similar genre taste. We all liked RnB/Soul and so we listened to music within that genre. We came across the artist Roy Woods who isn't mainstream at all but his music was quite good and edgy. So we were listening to many songs from his albums and instantly liked the song "got me". It was different but catchy too.

Editing day 2
The next day of editing we were more confident as we found matching the actors mouth to the song quite easy. After completing the whole cut, we wanted to add some text. At first we couldn't do it and then we looked at a youtube tutorial to help us.
Then we decided to colour the indoor shots as the lighting and colour was a bit too dark compared to the rest of the shots.

Editing day 1
personally, I love editing and editing for a music video is quite challenging but i learnt a lot. At first me and my group were discussing how to edit the piece. We wanted the beginning of the song, when the singing hasn't started, to be interesting and conventional to hip hop. We edited on premier pro. The beginning shots were in slow motion as its conventional and then edited to next shots to be going back and forth from each other really fast which went really well with the beat of the song. At first we were struggling as we thought the intro was too long and we didn't film enough content but then we got the idea to use slow motion.

filming for the lip sync task
Before we start our actual music video coursework, we had a little beginner task where we film a member of our group to lip sync to a song and then edit it.
within the temporary group we had two members lip sync to the song "bad and boujee". we had 3 different locations, the fields, by the gates and indoors. It was really sunny outside so i had to adjust the settings, fixing the aperture and ISO and shutter speed which all had an effect in how to video looked like. it was also difficult to see the viewfinder/screen as it was so suny. when filming indoors it was a bit dark so we had to again play with the settings. We didn't have enough time to do more locations or film other things to include in the music video, so next time i will consider focusing on time management.
